How Can I Download Books Onto the App?

If the myON app is installed on a tablet or Chromebook and if the device is connected to the internet, there are two ways to download books from the myON library: from within the myON app, or while working in myON in a web browser.

Downloading Books from Within the myON App

1. Open the myON app by tapping (or clicking) on the icon on the device.
2. Sign-in as a user on the myON app.
3. Tap (or click) on the Add Book icon in the app window (the icon varies on devices):

iPad	Chromebook	Android or Kindle Fire HD

4. To find a book, either do a "Visual Search" and browse categories or a "Text Search" and enter a word or two related to a book you want to find.
5. When you find a book you want to download, tap (or click) on its icon.
6. The book information window will open with details about the book.
7. To download the book, tap on the green Add To… button.
8. In the iPad and Chromebook apps, a grey icon with the book title will appear in the app window and a circle or horizontal bar will display the download progress. When the download is complete, the circle or bar will disappear, and a portion of the book cover will display in color.
   In the Android and Kindle Fire apps, you will see the book cover with a red "Downloading" message. Once 20% of the book has been downloaded, the message will turn green. When the book is fully downloaded, the message will disappear.

Downloading Books Using myON with a Web Browser

1. Log into myON using the web browser on your device.
2. In the dashboard, click Library and search for a book as usual.
3. When you find a book you might want to download tap (or click) on its icon.
4. The book information window will open with details about the book.
5. To download the book, tap the blue Download Book button.
6. A pop-up prompt will ask: "Open in myON?"
7. Choose Open. A grey icon with the book title will appear in the app window, and a circle or horizontal bar will display the download progress. When the download is complete, the circle or bar will disappear, and a portion of the book cover will display in color.
