How to Add Books to Assignments from the Library

Faculty and administrators follow the steps below to add books to assignments. After adding books to an assignment, you can choose how many of the books students are required to read to complete the assignment.

1. As you find or browse through books in the Library, when you find a book that you want to add to the Book Bag, select Assign.
   
   
   When you add the first book to the Book Bag, it will open on the right. If you want to open more books, select Close to close it. As you add more books to the Book Bag, you'll see a copy of the cover move up and to the right.
   
2. When you're ready to see the Book Bag again, go to the top of the page and select the Book Bag icon on the right. The icon shows the number of books in the Book Bag. The Book Bag will open, and you'll see all the books you have added.
   
   
3. Once you have added books to your Book Bag, you can add the books to an assignment. Note: Once you finish adding the books to an assignment, the books will be cleared from your Book Bag. Select Create Assignment at the bottom of the window.
   
4. In the window that opens, you have two choices:
   • Create a New Assignment creates a brand new assignment that includes the books in your Book Bag. If you select this option, enter a name for the new assignment.
     
   • Add to an Existing Assignment lets you add the books to an assignment that you have already created. Select the drop-down list to choose the assignment. Both active assignments and drafts are listed.
     
5. When you select Add, the books will be added to the assignment, and you will go to the page for that assignment.
